Fit in Midlife

A Personal Statement

A speaker stood before a group of alcoholics determined to demonstrate to them,
once and for all, that alcohol was an evil beyond compare.
On the platform he had what appeared two identical containers of clear fluid.
He announced that one contained pure water and the other was filled with
undiluted alcohol. He placed a small worm in the container while everyone watched
as it swam around and headed for the side of the glass, whereupon it simply crawled
to the top of the glass. He then took the same worm and placed it in the container
with alcohol. The worm disintegrated right before their eyes.
“There,” said the speaker. “What’s the moral?”
A voice from the rear of the room said quite clearly: “I see that if you drink alcohol,
you’ll never have worms.”

This story indicate that you hear and perceive exactly what you want to hear based
upon many of your own values, beliefs, prejudices and personal history.

Creation

Creation means coming up with new solutions to problems and doing things in a way
that immediately separates you from the competition in the minds of your prospects.
In fact, being a creator rather than a competitor separates you so much that they won’t even make a comparison… you stand alone in their minds.

Creation means being different  and people who are different stand apart from the crowd and don’t face the struggles that naturally come along with competition.
Creation means being the only game in town if people want what you offer and that means a whole lot more sales, more satisfaction, better relationships and more money!

But creation comes with a price, a price most people are mysteriously NOT willing to pay.
But if you pay the price the world will deliver anything you ask.
What’s the price?

In order to create instead of compete you must cut yourself off from the mentality of the “crowd.”
Now by “cut yourself off” I don’t mean you should become a hermit living in a cave
with no human contact. What I mean is that you must separate yourself from  the
“crowd” mentality.
You must be willing to make mistakes.
You must be willing to take chances and be vulnerable.
You must be willing to open yourself up to criticism.

Should I take vitamin and mineral Supplements?

The grocery stores, pharmacies and supplement stores are full of more supplements than ever before.  But the question is do we need more vitamins and minerals and if so, which ones?

What are vitamins and minerals?

Vitamins and minerals are micronutrients, which means that we need them in small amounts because they cannot be made in our bodies. Vitamins are organic or carbon-containing micronutrients that are made by living cells. Vitamins are further characterized as either fat-soluble or water-soluble vitamins. Fat-soluble vitamins can build up in body fat stores where as water-soluble vitamins are easily excreted by the body and do not build up in tissues. Minerals are inorganic elements that do not come from living sources, but from the earth’s crust, soil and water in which foods are grown.  continue reading….
